We formed in spring of 2016 as a way to try to help some of the more than 60 million displaced people around the world. Some of us participate through a house of worship, some do not.
We support people who were forced to flee their homes because of war, terrorism and other dangers. We find housing for our guests in Arlington, Cambridge and Somerville while they apply for Asylum, look for work and become independent. We also provide transportation, assistance grocery shopping and orientation to the
Boston area. We help our guests look for jobs. We teach ESL. Sometimes we just listen.
ArCS Cluster was the first cluster to be openly pro-LGBT. Two of our guests are part of the LGBT community, having had to flee their homes because it was unsafe for them as members of the LBGT community.
